On Sunday, ESPN’s Jim Bowden first reported that the Royals signed Brandon Moss to a two-year/$12 million contract, pending a physical.  Moss comes to Kansas City having spent time previously in Boston, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Oakland, Cleveland, and St. Louis.

Moss was an All-Star in 2014, one of six from the Oakland A’s, when he hit .234 with 25 home runs and 81 runs batted in.  Royals fans may remember him hitting two home runs in the 2014 American League Wild Card Game in Kansas City while driving in five.

Moss has 193 career home runs with 423 runs batted in.  He’s also a career .241 hitter.  Moss will most likely try to fill the void left by Kendrys Morales, who was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this offseason.

All-time, Moss is a career .309 hitter with 3 home runs and 13 RBI in 71 career plate appearances at Kauffman Stadium.
