Royals expand Roster, and a baby Moose

It is officially roster expansion time in the MLB, and the Royals took full advantage by bringing up some young talent today.  Returning to the club are utility fielder Whit Merrifield, outfiled Terrance Gore and Catcher Tony Cruz.  But probably the biggest news is the much awaited call up of third baseman Hunter Dozier.  Dozier had a career year in the minors with a triple slash of .296/.366/.533 with 23 homers.  This has been a move long awaited by some in the the fandom.  I am wondering if this is not just a move to get fresh bodies to the majors, but also as an audition for Dozier.  Next year things will become very crowded at the hot corner with Mike Moustakas coming back from an ACL injury, and his replacement Cheslor Cuthbert having a fine season currently.  With this much talent at third, one (or more) may have to be moved.  So in my (unrefined) eyes I think this is to see if Dozier is part of the future, or a possible piece to dangle at other teams.

Wade Davis was also activated today from the Disabled List.  Davis was rehabing a sore right arm, (which has bothered him in the past as well).  The bullpen looks to get even longer with his return, after statistically the best month of the year without him is it possible they just got even better?

Lastly, Mike Moustakas and his wife Stephanie welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the family today.  Mila Constance Moustakas was born today and according to Moose's instagram account everyone is doing just fine!  So congrats on the newest baby Moose!
